Freesat vs Freeview: Which Suits Your Home?

A practical comparison of Freeview aerials and Freesat dishes for Scottish homes.

Freeview uses a terrestrial TV aerial and is simple for many homes with decent transmitter coverage. Freesat uses a dish and can offer a larger channel line-up plus clearer reception in some areas where terrestrial signals are awkward.

If you already have a usable dish from a previous Sky install, Freesat can sometimes reuse it after checks. If you live in a dense terrace with poor southern sky views, a loft Freeview aerial may be the cleaner option.

We install and repair both. Tell us what TVs you have and whether you care more about channel choice or a minimal external install — we’ll recommend honestly.
